Hi, I'm having a problem with my T61P and the new PS update I just installed (CS3 -> CS4). The issue is that PS just won't open. When I try to open it, the cursor seems to load, then it returns normal. When I look at the Task Manager, the PS CS4 precess open, then it disappears and doesn't open. There seems to be a bug with the graphics driver in conjunction with the new Adobe Photoshop CS4. Photoshop now uses GPU-optimization. Anyone is having the same problem ?? Anyone knows how to solve it ??

    THX for your help

Due to the lack of responses apparently not. As per the forum rules no thread bumping for 24 hours. Did you contact Adobe? I'm sure they've seen this issue.

Are you using photoshop 32 or 64 bit?
My girlfriend is using photoshop 64 in vista and it works really well. I don't remember which video drivers I installed, but I took them from laptopvideo2go.
I've been lazy to install cs4 in mine though.

Did you try uninistalling and re-installing CS4. It doesn't seem like a driver issue if its not even opening, i can't imagine the video card is that important to start photoshop.

Hum, I didn't know that there where a 32bit version and a 64bit version for PS CS4 :S... When you talk about the drivers from laptopvideo2go, do you mean the twitch to make the T61P a GeForce like ?? THX for you respond, very appreciated

Well, if you have a 32 bit windows installed then it won't show up, otherwise both versions get installed and you can use them alternatively.

I think the drivers are those you mean. I haven't seen any changes in functionality though, I can still tweak the same way as with regular quadro drivers.

Hey, by the time you read this you may have already found a solution,

nVidia have released their own driver for the Quadro FX Mobile cards now - these are newer and seem to not have as good OpenGL acceleration (they are more like a Geforce driver) but they add gaming features like PhysX and the CUDA features.

But basically they are newer drivers & are from nVidia. Try it on your FX 570m to see if CS4 works.

    heres the link:

    all the best,
