    Hello,

I am planning on buying the T61 notebook OpenSuse Linux version but it only offers the Intel ABG wireless network card. I would like to buy the T61 Linux vesion (14.1 or 15.4 widescreen) with the Intel 4965AGN wireless card but they do not offer it on the site. Do I have to call Lenovo and specifically ask for it? It seems idiotic that under the Networking and Communications options for Wireless cards it only offers one choice when it states "Selecting this option may delay your shipment 3-4 weeks." See attachment.

So here are my ideal specs:

    14.1" or 15.4" Widescreen
    Intel GMA X3100 GM965
SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop version 10
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T9300 (2.5GHz 800MHz 6MBL2)
    2 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz SODIMM Memory (1 DIMM)
    100GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm
DVD Recordable 8x Max Dual Layer, Ultrabay Slim
    Intel 4965AGN wireless
    and the standard battery etc.

I only want the Linux version because I don't want to pay royalties to MS. So any input on the Wireless options would be helpful. It just seems pointless to list only one option and then state choosing that option will delay the order when there are no alternatives.

Also I do not want the Nvidia graphics card because I am not gaming. From what I have read the X3100 is more than adequate for Compiz/Beryl.

    Dr.White,

Yes, i see the same thing after checking. I also see the 4965 after clicking on the "help me decide" button:

Wireless cards 10 Help me decide Help me decide
    Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
Selecting this option may delay your shipment 3-4 weeks.

I have seen in the past some choices come and go in the Lenovo list of choices. This may be happening here. Wait a few days and check again.....the 4965 will probably be back. I get the feeling the choices are sometimes random and/or based on short term inventory situations at Lenovo.

I have the 4965 with my T61p and Ubuntu Linux o/s........beautiful combo. Good choices you are showing.

    Enjoy your Lenovo. :)

Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully Lenovo will update the choices for the wireless card. BTW, I am a Fedora user! : )3
