    Hi,

I currently am on a 1 year contract with Verizon for Mobile Broadband service. I am using the USB727 modem, but I just purchased a T500 with the WWAN upgrade option.

Assuming I purchase the Verizon WWAN card and install it to my T500, what do I need to do to transfer my service over to the T500. Verizon doesn't seem to use SIM cards, so it's not as simple as that.

I have tried calling Verizon support to ask them but the lady didn't understand my question and simply hung up on me.

I want to make sure it would be possible before dropping $170 on the Verizon card from Lenovo.

Also, would I be able to do anything with my current USB device? Like ebay it? Or is it locked to my account?

    Thanks

Try calling them again, theres a lot of that hanging up going around.

If I remember correctlly the number of different computers allowed on your verizon account is vitually unlimited but there is a password. I can't remember if it is your SSID or not.

Each Wireless device has an ESN number assigned to it, if you check your USB Modem there's probably a number printed on it somewhere (like 12 or 13 characters I believe). When you get the new card in the thinkpad it will also have an ESN #. Every cell phone does and it's usually printed under the battery. Anyway, on Verizon's site, under your account there's a place where you can "upgrade" your phone/device and select that you already have your replacement. You type in your new ESN # and select the reason you are switching it and bingo, your new device works and the old USB modem is automatically deactivated. You can then sell the USB Modem as the device is no longer on your account. I've used this method to switch between different devices on many occassions and have never had an issue, it's really easy to do.
