If you buy the X300 with the 3 cell Ultra-Bay battery or the DVD drive will it also ship with the travel bezel?

I would like to have the 3 cell battery but I don't think I will use it on a regular basis (only times I am unplugged for a long duration) so I would like to have that travel bezel as well.

Anyone with a X300 willing to report?

Why not just call Lenovo? I am sure they would be happy to add it to your order in the event that is not included.

When I bought my Fujitsu a couple years ago, both bezels were included. I am not presently aware of Lenovo's practice.

    Yeah I guess I could do that. I am not quite ready to make the jump. I guess I am still hoping that Lenovo may jump on the X4500 and a SL9400 (45nm / 1.86Ghz / 1066Mhz FSB, 6MB L2 cache / dual core / 17W TDP), SU9400 (45nm / 1.40Ghz / 800Mhz FSB / 3MB L2 / 10W TDP), or even U3300 (45nm / 1.20Ghz / 800Mhz FSB / 3MB L2 / 5.5W TDP) for the X300.

I doubt that the travel bezel would be packaged along with the laptop. It'd probably have the drive/battery installed in the ultrabay already.

It's not included in mine. I'd also like to know where to get it too. Lenovo doesn't seem to sell it.

It's probably available deep within some Lenovo support section. It's funny because I've thrown away literally hundreds of these things. Apparently they sell pretty easily for 5-10 bucks.

They come installed in things like X series docking station or an advanced dock. Basically anything with an ultrabay that can be ordered empty.

good lord, they retail for like 15 bucks or so

that's not direct though. There's plenty of places to find them.

    It's part# 13N5108

Well there is no way I am paying close to $3000 for a laptop and not getting a damn travel bezel!

Are you sure there's a travel bezel for the X300? I haven't seen one listed anywhere. The bay isn't like the ones on the T series.

Here's more information about how it works. Swapping the Bay Device on a ThinkPad X300

Yes, apparently we have all been ignoring that the X300's slot is not an ultra-bay at all. It's a thinner slot unique to X300s only. I think I would personally consider an x200 over the x300 because the X200 has superior computing power and possible 10 hour(!) battery life.

It has a travel bezel. I knew it doesn't have the Ultra Bay. When you configure the X300 you can choose that it not come with any DVD drive or extra battery and just have the travel bezel.

Frankly the DVD drive doesn't weight enough to make much of a difference between that and bezel. I honestly wouldn't worry about it at all and wouldn't waste my time trying to find a bezel for it.

    yes I own a X300.

    I agree with you.
BTW, can you turn off the DVD to save some battery power?
Because X300 does not have a physical power switch for its DVD drive.
(Panasonic CF-Y7 has one, for example)
