I would suggest that you get it from Lenovo (although I heard they might charge you an arm and a leg for it)...that's because if there is any problem at all with BIOS etc, you'll have better support.

well, first DON'T GET IT FROM LENOVO

second, don't get at&t. their 3g service only covers 9% of the US.

instead go to evdoinfo.com and get verizon or sprint

Only 9% of the US? That's insane!!!
I already have AT&T for quite some time, but I also have the Laptop Connect service and I'm using my phone(connected to my laptop) to post this message.
If you say that Verizon is better, then I might just wait until my contract is up, unless there is a better deal.

i've had verizon evdo for just over a year... it's pretty good. i can get connected anywhere on at least nationalaccess (3 times faster than dial up and 2.5 times faster than at&t's edge network) i also live in the middle of no where Wisconsin and get rev-a (3g) with speeds of 1.4mbs down and 470kbps up. i also ordered from the 3g store ( www.evdoinfo.com) their service is next to none

Wow, that looks promising. I live in PA, and in some parts, I get great service with AT&T in the trees, and I get 4 bars, and HSDPA connection. My friends have Verizon, and they have connection problems, and call issues because of the trees, and limited cell towers. I wanted to get Verizon, but I choose AT&T for the great cell service. I'm still thinking about switching. Can I get just the network service?

This may very well be true, but my home area is covered, as is almost everywhere I have traveled to in the last year and a half since I got a 3G phone. That must be a very large 9%...

I have ATT and I can get 1.8mbps download here in Oklahoma. Note that Verizon have 5GB limit which they might or might not enforce. The same is true for Sprint. However I haven't heard much about other people having their contract terminated if they go over or anything like that, though Verizon did that a few times in 2006/2007.

That can be a very misleading statistic if you don't also list how much of the US population is within that area.

BTW, what is the source of that statistic and what is its age?
