Just got my brand new x201 and am about to install a 120gb intel ssd. My question is what drivers will I need to install once I have w7 on there?
There is so many of them on this site do I really have to install all these?

I usually just install the Lenovo System Update and let that program install the necessary drivers. Always works for me. You can decide if you want to install or not, the Lenovo bloatware (access connection, etc) via that program.

Where do I get that at?

It's near the bottom of that page you linked:

Cool thanks installing w7 now if I can ever get this disc burnt! (Removed the eicfg file from an old disc then realized it was x86 now I have to start over

Does anyone know about the Intel Rapid Storage Technology for their SSDs? Should I download that and which one should I dl? Not sure which chipset I have.

Go here and download 10.0.0.1046 using the DL link on the far right. Use the installer app in the zip to install:

Awesome got it all installed
Thanks!
This thing is so fast. -
Yep, awesome machine. Enjoy!

Forgot to suggest that you download and install the Intel SSD toolbox to monitor your drive and help keep it in top shape:

Awesome, is it a good idea to run the SSD optimizer like it says? How often do you run it?
-
I also have a question about the battery, its at 98% now but when I plug it in it says no activity. Shouldn't it be charging? When I unplug it then it will say discharging.
EDIT: Nvm saw that it wont charge until it gets to 96% -
Well, I ran the System Configuration Tuner when I first got the drive on my X200. You only need to run that once, so I would suggest doing that. I run the SSD Optimizer once a week as suggested by Intel. Others here may do otherwise but I have two Intel SSDs now, and they're both running great after a few months.

Hmm my random write speeds seem way off, here are the bench marks. Any idea what it could be?

OS and are you using the Intel Rapid drivers?

You can read up on the two tweaks in the threads below and decide if you want to do them. It's the Intel chip set that is affecting your speeds:

Is AHCI mode enabled in your BIOS?
Those 4K random write speeds seem REALLY limited before tweaks; I was getting 20+ MB/s before applying the JJB tweak (the Stamatisx tweak has more cons IMO).
Btw, 5 runs 500MB, though better than the 1000MB default CDM writes, still seem like a lot of writes. Here are my results (50MB writes) before and after tweak:

I'll check on ahci mode. But yeah the seem real low even for not doing any tweaks.
Edit: Yep its enabled -
Fixed it. Had to enable write caching, I followed some ssd tweaking guide that told me to disable it I guess that's what screwed it up.
