Question about pending charges from Lenovo

Hey guys, I had a couple of questions from you guys that have ordered from Lenovo (not Lenovo outlet).

I ordered last Thursdays from Lenovo and I noticed that I had a pending charge on my credit card but this morning that pending charge is gone but it is still subtracted from my available balance and the charge is not showing on my billing statement.

Does this happen before an order is shipped out? I tried calling Lenovo today but their message saids that due to some circumstances that their call service is unavailable today (I'm guessing memorial day or something).

Even if the pending charges are gone and its not on the statement, will Lenovo still charge me and/or does this mean that my order is close to shipping?

 

I have noticed exactly what you are seeing sometimes. It makes it hard to know what is going on. I would phone your bank for clarification if you are concerned. But be assured, the figure will reappear soon!

 

I think I've seen this happen from other vendors too in the past so I'm not too worried. I'll probably call tomorrow morning to see what my order status is like. I sure hope it ships tomorrow so that I could possibly receive it by this Friday. Thanks for the reply!

 

Ok I just received a shipping notice. Man I wished I had chosen the 3 day delivery now.. Do you guys know how long usually the ups ground shipping takes?

Also if they are shipping from China is it a day ahead of us?

 

It normally takes 3-5 days. Mine shipped out Saturday night and I received it on Thursday if that helps at all. You could always check UPS since they give an estimated delivery date.

 

So it took roughly 4 days for you to receive your laptop.

I've been reading about past shipping experiences by googling and some people say that international shipping from China to Kentucky Louisville (I'm guessing it'll ship to that hub as I live in Texas) takes one day.

So from the time Kentucky receives my laptop, it should take 3-5 days. I hope I can receive it by Friday, which I doubt but I hope I get an estimated delivery time from UPS tracking once it is available.

 

I just checked my online bank statement and the pending charge for this laptop that I've ordered still hasnt shown up in the monthly statement as well as the availability of my funds is not reflected either (seems that the amount that I paid for the laptop has come back as credited!?!).

But then I received a shipping notification from Lenovo and I have my tracking number (delivery by Friday).

I'm so confused on whats going on. Has this happened to any of you guys when or after you received the shipping notification you were credited back on your credit card but did it charge you later on?
