If I create the recovery discs using that partition and then merge it back into my main partition, can I still run a disc-less recovery via the startup recovery option?

I'm curious about the whole partition layout. I thought that EISA hidden partitions couldn't be seen by operating systems at all?

Are there TWO recovery partitions? the Q one for the discs and then the EISA one for the bios recovery option?

    Someone enlighten me please :)

There are two partitions, just like you say. The other one is hidden and the other one visible in Windows. If you open up Computer Management and then go to Disk Management, you will be able to see all partitions on your hard drive, including the hidden one.

I doubt recovery will work if you merge the partitions together. I assume it will search for the recovery files on the "third" partition.
