Greetings one and all.
I recently purchased a refurbished x200, win 7 64.
When I made the windows recovery set I noted the statement saying that:
"The recovery media you are going to create can only be used on this system. Do you want to continue?"
I am curious if this is a hard fact; ie perhaps the backup recorded an identifier from the original machine and will only install on that machine, or are you just forbidden to do so & by clicking to continue agreeing to be a good boy and not use it on a different machine?
TIA

Be a good boy, click YES and continue.

Greeting Kaso, and thank you for the reply.
However, unless you are being cryptic, I do not see how the response answers the question; as I had already clicked 'yes' and continued, -

Let me be a little less cryptic.
The DVD set you created can be used on any machine. The license is for the machine it is created on, only. You are expected to abide by that license. -
Gotcha. Thank you. I was just curious how far their ant-piracy efforts extended; seems an identifier locking it to that particular machine would be a way to avoid people violating that agreement.
Have a Great one. -
