I've ordered a T60 that will be delivered in two days. It comes with a 90watt power adapter. (I'm in the U.S.A)
Can I use this adapter in Europe if I go there? Apart from the plug being different, do I need a step up transformer or can I plug in the 90watt adapter into a 230v socket (with socket adapter) ?

No it should be alright but to be on the safe side ask lenovo if it supports 220-240V

The T60 comes standard with an international warranty.
Most T61 do not (cheaper price & build), unless you pay a whole bunch extra directly to Lenovo.
But you will void your T60 international warranty if you plug it into a non-110 volt outlet over there without an appropriate adapter. -

So is the T61 a cheaper build or not?
I dont know whether to try to steal a T60 or a T61 now ... -
When I travel to Europe I use a Kensington AC/DC power adapter.
It also works on the planes (the ones equipped with the Empower plugs) and in the cars. -

Read the specifications on your power adaptor. See the input voltage? 100V to 240V. Power bricks nowadays have auto-switching capability, so one brick will work anywhere in the world.

Thanks for all the replies. I got a T60 with a 3 year extended depot warranty. Does that mean it's covered if I'm in ... say switzerland?

You should check your particular model here
