I'd like to know if it is comfortable to use your laptop's keyboard while using the advanced mini dock. I have a T400 and I don't know anything about docks but I like the idea of leaving stuff plugged into various ports but I don't want to buy an external keyboard. I am assuming the dock is designed so that the laptop's keyboard can be used -- but is this better or worse than typing without the dock?

I'm using one with a T61p. It raises the keyboard up at a slight angle. I think it makes it slightly more comfortable to type on when the TP is in the advanced mini dock.

I used an external keyboard when I had the dock.

It is better for me. Because the dock gives a tilt angle which essentially helps the typing.

I have been using a T61p on a dock for a few months now, and I dont mind it at all. If you want to see for yourself, just slide a book under the back 15% of the laptop that is about half an inch thick or a little more, that might give you sort of an idea. Its also nice to be able to use an external keyboard + monitor and mouse :D
