Okay, I am in the market for a X41 Tablet, but I have been doing some research and I have become somewhat confused.

1.8in HD is available on which IBM notebook??? or which IBM notebooks are restricted to 1.8in HD? X40, X41???

I want to make sure that I can upgrade the HD on the X41 Tablet, and since 2.5in hard drives have higher capacities. :D

Well, I found the answer to my question, just takes some looking around.
In this X41 Tablet Review ( http://www.tabletpcreview.com/?newsID=275) , it states "The hard drive speed of 4200RPM is often pointed to as being too slow. And the problem with the hard drive size on the X41 (1.8") is that there is no upgrading to a faster hard drive. With extra RAM that will provide less need to hit the hard drive, you'll be able to overcome performance issues, and with the included processor you'll be humming a happy tune anyway. To me the 4200RPM limitation hard drive isn't a big deal."

So basically, I was planning to get a X41 Tablet and upgrade the HD to a 160, but with it using a 1.8, I could not upgrade to a 2.5 160 HD.

    Sorry for the trouble.

It is just the x40 and x41 that use the 1.8" hard drive. You are correct in that 1.8" drives only spin at 4200RPM and offer limited capacity. I believe 100GB is the biggest right now.

So basically, the X40, X41, and X41 Tablet, all have 1.8" HDs.

ylim, the X60 Tablet is replacing the X41 Tablet.

I was more interested in the X41 Tablet since it is a older notebook and figure I could get one at a lower price then an X60 tablet. I have had an X30 for about 3 years now and now it is my desktop, but liked the aspect of having a tablet. So, like most people, I would like a notebook for everything, basic computing, some media, burning CDs, and watch movies. I guess I will have to take the X41 Tablet off my list. Thanks for the replies.
