I just got my T400s yesterday, quality is good, comparable to the T400 I had, one thing that surprised me is T400s is thinner than my old T40

I got the LT screen unlike most of you who has the LTN screen, looks ok to since I am only using it for coding and internet.

1 question regarding the screen lid on the T400s, do you guys find it harder to get the lid to snap in place when closing ? I kind have to apply some pressure at the middle towards the top (close to the web cam) of the lid before it will firmly snap in place when I close.

My T40 and T400 snaps in with very little pressure or no pressure at all.

I experienced similar when I first got my T400s. Because screen is so thin, you can twist it slightly by holding its corners. I think that explains a need for extra pressure to close the lid. But after over a month of carrying it in my laptop bag along side with work's T60 where it constantly squeezed in, I don't have this problem anymore ;)

What is an exact part number of your screen? How do you like it? Do you find limitation of vertical viewing angle? As you tilt your head, does your colors change, get brighter/darker/washed out? I was actually thinking about complaining to Lenovo service and asking for screen replacement. If there are 2 screen types, its always 50/50 chance that I might get a better one since I'm not too crazy about the current one I got.

I posted my panel number awhile ago, have to look it up. It is super bright. Inside of the house I have to bring it down to 30% or so. "glad" to hear you have the same TN artifact of washed out colors lol!!!

Mine is LTN141BT08001 (product id: LEN4036) by Samsung. Majority of T400s comes with it. But some have LT141DEQ8B00. These are both TN displays, so poor vertical angle and washed out color when you are slightly outside of "sweet spot" will be common to both. BUT, they do have a different color profile. Check out discussion in HERE. Zenit has LT141DEQ8B00 screen, and while using Colorvision Spyder2 Express colorimeter he uploaded his color profile. I loaded it into my T400s where I have LTN141xyz display and colors looked a little bit off. I still had to go to video card setup color correction and turn down Blue brightness.
