I am ready to purchase a X61 and I have the following question before putting in the order. What is the difference between 12.1" XGA TFT screen and 12.1" UltraLight XGA screen? Is one better than the other?
Thanks for the help!

As the name tells us it's a little bit lighter, but the difference in weight is not that noticeable.
I don't know about brightness because I never saw X61s, maybe someone else can write about brightness. -
Basically, the TFT (thin film transistor) LCD screens will produce better quality images.

Get the UltraLight display, not because it produces better quality images (I don't believe it does), but because it is much brighter. Overtime, your laptop lcd will get dimmer and dimmer. If you have a brighter display from the beginning, your display won't be as dim as a non-UltraLight display a couple years down the road. There's also a slight weight difference but probably not noticable unless you had a precise scale. -
Well, that's what they claim. Of course, it'll be different from person to person.
