    1. In Vista, the power icon near the lock this computer icon, when I press that, what do I press when I want to turn my computer back on? First time I did it i pressed the power button and got back into windows. Now when I do it nothing happens and the computer wont boot back up.

    2. I keep getting some error message during startup telling me there is an error connecting to Client Security Solutions(Lenovo software). I'm guessing its a conflict error with windows firewall but i dont know how to resolve the problem and get rid of the message at startup.

edit: I solved this. it was just a conflict with Windows Defender. but what exactly does client security do and should i use it?

    3. What is digital line detection software?

I have a ton of more questions just cant think of them now. Help me out with those first two that are bothering me right now.

    Hmm for your first question,

Didn't tried it alot with my T400 but it seems that this button put the computer in hibernating mode.

I guess the only way to restart the comp is by pressing the power button,... not sure why its not working on your comp... You might wait a little bit to be sure that the computer is hibernating before trying to reopen it.

I have little experience with Vista, but I'd say that if you put your laptop in Standby mode (either using the button you're referring to or using the Fn+F4 function) I wake my T61 up pressing for a few seconds (2 tops) the Fn key at the bottom left of the keyboard. This has always been the case for all the Thinkpad I've owned.

yeh its strange because the first time i did it it worked by me pressing the power button. and its a nice feature, it boots the computer back up as if from hibernation or sleep. now when i do it i get nothing, i dont know which button to press... but yeh, the first time i left it off for 30 minutes, now i try to get it back up immediately.
