I ordered 2 T61's on friday around 6pm, is it normal that I still have not received a fatwallet email confirmation? The popup was there throughout the entire order. Is it possible that it did not go through yet because it's after business hours?

Also, Lenovo overcharged me because the price in the email was higher than on the confirmation page. I am aware this has happened to other people before, and that if you can show them a quote for an identical configuration they should credit your card the difference (I just made an identical quote proving my case). However, if I find that if for some reason my fatwallet discount did not go through properly, I would like to cancel my current order and convert that quote to an order. Is there a way to convert a quote to an order while still using fatwallet and AMEX discount?

I can only answer the first part of your question. I have used fatwallet a couple times recently (order, cancelled, ordered again). Both times I got an e-mail the next day from fatwallet saying that the purchase was reported from Lenovo. Since you ordered late on a friday, I think you won't hear anything until the next business day. I wouldn't be concerned until at least Tuesday.

Thanks that makes me feel better. As long as fatwallet goes through fine I will just keep my current order and use that quote and a screenshot to prove to them they overcharged me.

Is the popup supposed to indicate a purchase was made or something, because my popup stayed exactly the same and did not change even after the purchase was made, is that normal?

The pop-up does not change. It is just a reference number that you should write down showing that you went through fatwallet to get to the lenovo website.

Well I just got a confirmation email from fatwallet, so that went through fine.
However, my lenovo rep just emailed me and said she would try to get the price adjusted to the price I should have been charged in the first place, but won't that invalidate my AMEX and/or fatwallet discounts? Does anyone know?

Yes, it will. I had to re-order because of something similar. You should never call a rep if you want all these discounts. When the rep gets a hold of your order number they will change your order from an "on-line" order to a "phone" order so they can get credit for the order. This just happened to me.

If you want all of the discounts, you'll have to cancel and re-order, make sure you have your order just how you want it and don't call sales. AMEX/Tailormade and FW must be "on-line" orders.

Does this mean that if you get a quote number from a rep over the phone and then make an online purchase using that quote number, you cannot get the Fatwallet and Amex/Tailormade discount? Has anyone done this successfully?

I kind of don't think anyone will be willing to risk that... Or the time wasted if it doesn't work.

I really hope that's not true. I ordered mine online after putting a quote number from a rep(over the phone). I did get the FW pending email a few days after the order.

Does anyone know whether I would actually get the FW discount? How long does it take from the pending status to the available status. Are there reasonable chances that a reported/pending cashback in FW may be canceled automatically?

I'm pretty much in the same boat. The reason why I wanted to go this route is because I wanted to get EPP pricing on a preconfigured model. Does anyone know how to do this without going through a rep? I can get the machine part number from tabook.pdf but I don't know where on the EPP page I can punch it in. You just get the custom-to-order option.

It does seem like a good sign that you got a pending email from Fatwallet.

How and when would one find out that a fatwallet discount has been canceled? Immediately after price adjustment, shipping, or longer?

Longer. The order that I canceled a week ago still says "pending" on fatwallet. If you read the FAQs on FW you'll find that you will not have access to your money until 91 to 121 days after your purchase is SHIPPED. They wait to give your discount because they wait to make sure you don't return the laptop or to find out if the order has been canceled.

It will probably say pending until after 91 to 121 days then it will change to "Available" or "Declined".

If you want to make sure and you are willing to take the risk, call up a sales rep and ask them "Is my order considered a phone order or an on-line order?" If they tell you that it is an on-line order, tell them to not mess with it because you are getting an on-line order discount.
