I see that the 14" T61P is being offered as a SXGA+ right now, so:
    1. What resolution does this equate to?
    2. Has anyone had any experience with these displays - i.e. are they any good? 3. Does the 4:3 display change the overall weight/dimensions of the laptop?
    4. Is Lenovo going to offer the 14" in a WXGA+ variant?

As a side-note, what is Intel Turbo Memory and is it worth getting?

    Thanks peeps!

SXGA+ is 1400x1050...which i think is the perfect resolution for a 14" screen. The WXGA+ option was available before, but there is a shortage on them which is why Lenovo pulled the option from their site....they should be back in a few weeks.

Sounds like a good res. Are these displays any good, and would they change the weight/dimensions of the laptop vs. widescreen display?

I have the T61p 14.1 TMD screen. While bright, it has a very narrow viewing angle particularly in the vertical direction. I was surprised how much difference there was from an old T40p screen that I had next to the T61p. I could view the T40p screen up to the point where I was almost looking straight down at the top of the lid and way off to the side on the T40p. This is far from the case with the T61p screen. Also, I find the T40p screen easier on my eyes with prolonged viewing then the T61p. The lettering and everything else just seems more distinct with an exactness to the fonts on the T40p screen. The T40p is a true matte while the T61p is more of a pearl or semi-matte screen with somewhat more reflections. It seems that notebook screen technology has regressed in some ways in the four years since I bought the T40p which is really too bad since the screen to me is such a vital part of the package.

Besides the somewhat marginal screen, everything else about the T61p is superb. The build, fit and finish is second to none while the Alps keyboard is a joy to use. Everything worked perfectly right out of the box. A very nice notebook indeed except for narrow viewing angles of the screen.

BILLJ is right on about the screen, the screen is pretty poor, and the graphics card is not as powerful as one would thing (being from the 570m family), but for the price it cannot be beaten. I am not sure where you can get such a computer for under 1000.
