    Thanks in advance

    1. Does 7200 rpm drain battery life faster then 5400 rpm
    2. Does 570 M graphics card drain more battery then the 140 M one

The graphics card should increase the power drain by a significant margin. The 7200 drive will probably not greatly affect battery life.

In theory...yes to both...it depends on a lot of variables though.

Only game i would ever want to play is Halo 2, and i doubt that is playable on t61. I care about batterylife and heat more than anything. Is it safe to assume that a 5400 rpm and the nvidia 140m more convenient for my needs

I know the 8400gt uses much less power than the 8600gt. The quadro equivalents will probably have the same power differences. Research the 8400gt and see if it meets your needs. I believe it would be capable of playing halo2. Heat shouldn’t be a major concern as new components are designed to function at much higher temps. I don’t think you would have any overheating issues with the t61p. However, quadros do have around 5% less power in regard to games, so keep that in mind.

The drive really doesn’t matter, but if battery life is your primary concern the t61 with 7 cell battery may suite you best. I think you would probably see a significant loss in battery life with the t61p. I’m sure you would still get over 2 and a half hours with it though.

Scratch that the 9 cell battery on the 15.4 would outlast the 7 cell even with the smaller screen. The T61p will probably get around 3 hours where the t61 will get around 4 with a 9 cell. Someone please correct me if I’m mistaken.

    Another newb question:

What exactly does the "p" at the end of T61 mean/get you? Is it on the lenovo website?
