Quick question about Y410P - how many HD SATA slots does it have?

    Greetings folks,

I recently purchased a Y410P and am expecting it shortly. Would any of you be able to tell me how many SATA HD slots the laptop has? The build I purchased has a 1 TB 5400/rpm HD as well as a 24 gig SSD. I'd like to replace at least the 24 gig SSD with a 7200/rpm HD I have from an older laptop. Perhaps I will replace the 1 TB 5400/rpm HD, as well. If I recall correctly, the ultrabay is occupied with a optical drive which I may or may not replace with something else. Basically, I'm just hoping there are two hard drive SATA bays under the bottom panel.

    Cheers.

    Storage options on the Y410p/Y510p:

    - One 42mm M.2 (NGFF) drive slot
    - One 2.5'' SATA III Slot located inside the primary bay of the laptop, located under the right palmrest
    - One optional extra 2.5" SATA III Slot located within the ultrabay, requires a hard drive caddy (can be found for around 10$ on eBay)

By default, there is only one 2.5 inch Sata bay, though you can add another one via a HDD caddy. While this laptop is quite large for a 14 inch laptop, it is quite small considering it can house two GPU's. Not many 14 inch laptops have optical drives anyways.

So I assume the 24 gig SSD is already loaded into the NGFF drive slot, right? And it's safe to assume that the OS is installed there?

    - Yes, 24GB M.2 (NGFF)
    - Nope, by default it is used for disk caching by a program called Expresscache.

Thanks again for the quick reply. Maybe I'll look for a good deal on an NGFF SSD. Is it easy to get to under the computer? I hope it's just under the bottom panel and that all I need is a philips screwdriver.
