Hi...
Self-replacement of the keyboard on a brand new ThinkPad (with a 3-year warranty) does not void the warranty, does it?
Is this written someplace that I can keep as a record? If yes, any links/ pointers etc would be very helpful.
Thanks.

The keyboard is considered customer replaceable and does not void the warranty.

What about replacing the hard drive (e.g. fitting a larger capacity drive) or installing a different version of Windows (e.g. Going from XP to Windows 7)?
Many thanks -

@JaneL...Thanks, I'll check it out.
EDIT: On checking online, among other things, I find the following statement:
"This product has a special bid four year limited warranty. This product is entitled to parts, labor and on-site repair service (9x5 next business day) in approved locations. Thinkpad batteries have a one year warranty."
What does "special bid four year limited warranty" mean? -

special bid warranty are usually for corporation and large purchase customers. I have a T43 that has a 5 year warranty standard, and this machine was from a friend whom works in a bank.
