hi..i'm totally new to IBM :D ...but i know that ibm is the best brand of notebooks...
i plan to buy an IBM on late august...but i stil don't know buy T43 or R52...
i know that the R series have firewire port which T series not...and i need it...but i consider about the build quality of R series because it made of plastic===>(is this right???)
how bad is the plastic of the R series??and how good and sturdy is the magnesium alloy of the T series??because it is important to me to have a sturdy notebook...
    thanks for your help... ;)

Well, as an IBM user I can say that it's not "the best brand", but rather "one of the best brands for work". It is a good, sturdy and very comfortable business machine, not a "best" laptop, caz hardware wise it is not on the top at all.

Today's plastic is not that bad on the laptops, caz if you drop it, it really don't matter what it made out of, the inside hardware can be damaged in ither one. If you plan to sit on it, ither one won't survive as well ;O)

Ok..thank's for your help...but i believe that IBM is the most reliable brand all over the world. :) :buyIBM:
Do you know which is better for gaming between R300 on R52 and ATI FireGL T2 on T43 at the same spec(128 Mb) ???

Hehe, if you'll throw word "reliable" in the pile, then there is no question about your beliefs about :buyIBM:

I always had A series Thinkpads, care less they are big and heavy, but they have screen that I like a lot and have no touch pad which I dislike more than having an older model (it does all I need with a big smile plus I can get it for cheap these days ;)) The last one I still have now I've dropped about 5 times over 3 years, last time it fell on the PCMCA cards and broke the insert caddy inside, I’ve replaced it, and it worked for sometime, but I did not know there was a little metal pin that broke off was inside, so when it had a moment it shortened the mobo somewhere, hehe, now I am on the hunt for a mobo on ebay.

There reason I am telling you this is to amplify :buyIBM: sign, which one... that is up to you and your needs.

Forgot to mention, x300 will do alright (almost in same line with R9600), it is much cheaper and ok for games AFAIK.

They all good these days, I mean which are made for business line. The thing that I usually look in the notebook is a screen (my eyes worth more than any notebook out there), keyboard and material it made out of. Everything else is pretty much the same across the line. I just like the flat white look of IBM's screen which I find one of the easiest on my eyes and super comfortable keyboard with the mouse stick right on it so I don't have to jump my hands up and down to use the touch pad (sorry but I don't know any competition in this regard ;o)
