Rescue and Recovery 4.3 is freezing up every time I try to do something. I've tried creating and deleting backups (on an external HDD) and it will either hang for hours stuck on the task or will just stop responding altogether. What are my options as far as getting it to work or getting rid of the backups just short of formatting my external hard drive?

And on a related note, I did a clean install of Windows 7 and installed R&R afterward. Is there still a Windows preboot environment where I can access recovery options if something goes wrong like I could with the factory install?

Did you wipe out your recovery partition when you reinstalled Windows? Also try reinstalling Rescue and Recovery? When you reboot, spam F11 to access the recovery partition (if it's still there).

Yes, I deleted the recovery partition. I've reinstalled Rescue and Recovery and now there's a line of text during the boot that says to press F11 to access recovery options before Windows starts up (there wasn't before). But when I connect my external HDD and try to delete backups, it says no backups are found. Yet they still seem to be on my HDD taking up space. Is my only option to reformat it to get that space back?
