I usually go to crucial.com to see what any given PC/laptop/motherboard uses. They've always covered my application. Looks like you need 204-pin SODIMM DDR3 PC3-8500 - up to 2 - 2 MB sticks. Crucial used to make quality RAM - I suppose they still do, though I usually find their RAM cheaper at newegg.com.

    best,
    hank

    204-pins?

Can any one else confirm that?

And this may be a stupid question.. but can 200-pin fit in 204-pin slots?

    Sorry, I'm an absolute noob.

I believe all of the new Thinkpads use DDR3 memory. DDR3 is 204 pins (DDR2 is 200 pins). Unfortunately, DDR3 is more expensive than DDR2 right now (this will change in time).

DDR2 and DDR3 is NOT COMPATIBLE. DO NOT PUT 200 PIN MEMORY INTO A 204 PIN SLOT.

    Hope this helps.

Presently Thinkpad OEM Ram is cheaper than anything out there. you can pick up a 2GB ddr3 for about 47$ from Lenovo cpp
