Trying to find out more about this somewhat elusive model - it's got the WSXGA+ screen and for some reason a discrete ATI Mobility Radeon 3470 instead of (what I thought was) the only option of the integrated intel 4500.

Looking on some of the online stores that sell it, the other model in the range (the R500 with the WXGA screen) has full specs whereas this doesn't. It also ships with XP Pro rather than Vista which is a bit strange (but not a problem, we have a MAPS so have 10 Vista Business licenses).

Tried to find it in the TABook for December but none of the R500 series were listed as having a WSXGA+ screen.

Does anyone have any definitive tech specs for the thing?

If it isn't in TABook, where did you hear about it?

Google shows it a European model. Specs are hard to find. Where did you see it came with the 3470 card.

It said so on the Lenovo UK shop, the link is:

    http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/gbweb/LenovoPortal/en_GB/catalog.workflow:category.details?current-catalog-id=FD6DB49790C7411D933567FC361231FB&current-category-id=2BD61D210D4B420DB4A05F15220AEEF7

The other confusing part was about the Windows XP instead of Vista (not a problem, just confusing!).

    --------

Ok, I've contacted Lenovo directly (and some partners) to find out about this model, it appears that it's very new and as such very few specs are available.

It's a Centrino 2 with a P7370 (an OEM only 2 ghz Penryn core with 3mb L2 cache - some places have it down as a T7370 which according to Intel processor finder doesn't exist), 15.4" WSXGA+ screen with camera, Comes with Vista Business and XPP downgrade, 2GB memory (conflicting reports if it's 2x1 or 1x2 but since DDR3 Sodimms are coming down in price it's not really a problem) 320GB hard drive, DVD+-RW DL, Fingerprint reader, AMD M82XT (Mobility Radeon 3470 128MB)

Machine type model is 27326FG for those interested.

Does the R range come with the magnesium rollcage?

The 15.4" WSXGA+ does not have the roll cage.

At all? It doesn't mention that in the product advertising for the R500 anywhere I could see - they advertise it as having rollcage.

Looking at the spec page it says all R series have the main body rollcage, but none (R400, R61 and R500) have the LCD rollcage.
