    Hello,

I just received the R500 which is cool and almost completely silent. I have returned HP laptops because of the heat and fan noise.

Back to the original post. I purchased the laptop with the integrated webcam and I installed antivir, comodo firewall and spyware terminator. I generally run a full scan before I do any serious work on the laptop.

I did a full scan using spyware terminator and it discovered a trojan:

    Remove Trojan.Dropper.Joiner.ea
    Deleted File: c:\SWTOOLS\Apps\cameracenter\vista3264\setup.exe
    Deleted File: c:\SWTOOLS\Apps\cameracenter\vista3264-Silent\setup.exe

I don't know if the software reported a false positive but I took no chances. I will call Lenovo about this.

    Jeff

I noticed the same 2 files in the same location with Comodo and the Lenovo W500

Did you ever get an answer from Lenovo or confirmation if this was a false positive?

    Thanks.

Upload to VirusTotal and Jotti online virusscan, if only "fringe" products pick them up (i.e., anything other than Kaspersky, Norton, ESET Nod32, Avira, Avast and McAffee) it's probably a false positive.

Lenovo cam software in my U330 was flagged as a virus by AVG.

I suspect it is a false positive, but I do not use OEM software in any case so I wiped the computer.
