I'm looking for a notebook for my business. I've decided I want a Thinkpad and the R50e is only 799 through newegg and Z60m is only 999 direct. Is the R50e sufficient just for business purposes? Any other Thinkpad models in this price range you recommend?

I agree with zazonz that more detailed specs are needed, but in generally, unless widescreen form factor is a problem, I'd go for the Z60m. R50e is an ultra-budget model, it lacks various features present on other R-series.

You just won't get the Z60M until February by my guess.

I believe it. Mine says it is back ordered and expected to ship February 2. I customized everything through the student program so I expected it to take a while and they did warren me it would be 4-6 weeks.
