I have had problems with this old laptop running on battery power but it always worked on AC. Now it will not power up anymore.

When I push the start button the fan comes on and the status lights sequence briefly but nothing show up on the screen. It just stays black.

Once in a while if I start and shut it off over and over it shows the IBM logo for a second and then goes black. I tried an external monitor and that didn't work either. The fan is running but without the display, I don't know what is happening. BTW, just 2 status lights stay lit, the battery and the one just to the left of it. All the other status lights cycle briefly when starting then go out.

    Anyone have any ideas?

I have been reading through threads about this and I think the MoBo is dead. The fan spins but no beeps and I tried taking out the memory and still I don't get any beeps so I guess I will try to sell it for parts.
