what sort of RAM should i get for an R52 on the way to me? im lost when it comes to ram.

    its got a pentium m 750 with 2 slots, 1 slot holds a 512 stick.

and is it ok to put a 1 gig stick in hte optional slot to have 1.5 gigs? or is there any reason i shouldnt do this?

    thanks!

You should start one thread containing all your R52 questions instead of having 3-4 different threads. It keeps the site clean.

Your R52 takes DDR2 PC-4200 RAM. PC-5300 will also work as PC-4200 is usually more expensive due to less supply.

ok thanks. but can you comment on the 1.5 gig configuration? is this a wise idea or no?

i was wondering if i should buy 1 gig to make it 1.5, or if i need to buy 2 gig to make it 2 gig total because of the odd 1.5 gig idea is not good.

sorry about the threads i thought if i jumbled all these seperate questions in one thread no1 would reply.

1.5GB of RAM will work, but you lose dual channel mode, which I believe your laptop is capable of. You can always upgrade to 2GB down the road when you need more RAM.

ok cool thanks. sounds like i should just get 2 gigs and get it over with since ram is so cheap right now.

its just the idea of removing the keyboard that troubles me. i suppose ill just try to be super careful ...
