New problem--recent. While working, my R60 screen sometimes goes black. This happens while I am typing or working, not because of inactivity. Working programs keep going [ex: if I am listening to music, it continues to play]. If I hibernate the machine (close lid or use Fn+F4), can "wake" the computer and screen comes back to normal; programs are still open.

ONLY happens when running on battery, not when plugged in.
I recently added XP Service Pack 3.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any fixes you can suggest?

    Thanks!

I haven't had that problem. Honestly there's a seeming endless reasons it could be doing this, but the two most likely candidates seem to be the mobo/GPU or a loose connection somewhere. If it only happens on battery, the battery could be a problem as well. If you're comfortable you could take it apart to see if there's anything loose.
