I am using R52 (P4,256MB,40GB) which I am giving to my sister and I am in search of new notebook myself. I considering purchasing HPs, Sonys for limiting my costs but its just so difficult for me to think of not using thinkpad :D

I mostly use the laptop to do photo editing (PS and other photgraphy software), browsing etc. When I use the R51, I find the screen little whitish and hence I am little reluctant in getting another IBM

To keep my costs in control I have now added following models in my list. I would like to hear the experience of current owners specially about screens. As I am buying in HU, I only have following options for screens/processors etc

    Thinkpad z60m (UH3HFHL)
    Intel PentiumM (Sonoma)
    1860Mhz, 512MB RAM,
    80GB HDD, DVD+-RW,
    15.40" WXGA (1280x768)

    Thinkpad R60 (UE16ZHL)
    Intel Core Duo 1660Mhz,
    512MB RAM,
    60GB HDD, DVD+-RW,
    15" XGA (1024x768)

Could someone please answer this guy. And what if it were an R60 vs a Z60t instead of the Z60M with the same specs.

If you're going to use Photoshop extensively, I'd probably recommend the Core Duo R60. However, I think the general trend I've noticed is that the Core Duo's can't match the Pentium M's in battery life.

The Z will be more solid with better performance on the R. My v3000 get about the same battery life as the v2000.
