    Hi,
As the title says my r60 overheated today and had to shut down. It's probably my mistake cause well i believed that wouldn't even be possible with something so great as a thinkpad :D.
But well when i restarted it gave me temperatures like 72(celsius) and 76 (i don't know which of the two is the processor and which is the videocard).
So i was wondering how can i prevent this from happening in the future.

PS: I do have to note that it was 25 outside and that i just but it plain on a desk without ventilation. On top of that i had the profile maximum performance and was playing a game for 2 hours straight so maybe i was asking for it

well i have 1,5 gb and my videocard apparently borrows 376 mb from that, but that shouldn't be a problem, besides i thought it wasn't possible to turn off virtual memory

My T23 frequently gets above 70C. Does anoyne know if that's normal? (Sorry, didn't want to start another thread on a similar subject....)

Overheating is never normal (unless you use your computer in a dry sauna). If your computer shuts down from overheating, something isn't working right. The ACPI/BIOS should throttle cpu/gpu clock speed and such to keep the system in heat tolerances. I'm assuming that when you say no ventilation, you at least had the fan intake/exhaust unobstructed. You'll probably have to start talking to Lenovo support to resolve it.

yep, that was what i meant. I just have it at the desk without levitation but the exhaust is of course not obstructed.
