I must admit I don't have alot of experience with either laptops or their speakers' performance. That being said, I purchased a Thinkpad R60 a couple of weeks ago. About 25% of the time, the left speaker puts out sound that sounds really distorted, like the speaker was blown out (very tinny, etc). The rest of the time, it sounds perfectly normal. This also occurs when I'm listening with headphones: same side (left).

Is this occurence normal with laptops and/or their speakers not being designed to be the best audio machines, or is something wrong with the sound card? Any advice/suggestions on how to handle this situation would be greatly appreciated...
