    Hello,

    T8100, 2.5GB of RAM, 80GB HDD..

I had i laptop a long time ago, so I don't really know if it should be like that.

Both cores takes around 20% of usage at idle. Sometimes a little less. Load a skype, firefox and it takes around 40%.

My desktop, E6600 & 3.2ghz takes 0-5% cpu usage doing basic stuff.

So what the hell? Are those laptops suppose to work differently than desktop CPU's?

I had this same exact problem on my desktop. Even with a few windows
open, my CPU was sitting at 50-70% usage. The culprits turned out to
be browser add-ons. I disabled them and now my usage is 1-3%.

Your figure of 20% at idle just doesn't make sense. Have you looked
for any offenders in Processes in Task Manager?

What are the specific processes that are taking up the CPU?

Yeah, open Task Manager and see which processes are causing the CPU load.

From there, we can narrow down the problem and try to find a solution.
