    Hi all,

Quick question that to you guys may be unexciting, but I couldn't get anywhere googling.

I have a new R61 new and I noticed that the LCD refresh rate is set at 50hz, with an option for 60hz.

I've never seen this option on an LCD before, it's always just been 60hz. Is it a battery saving thing? Considering I'm going to be staring at the screen the whole day, does it make sense to just bump it up to 60hz?

    Thanks for any help!

It is a power saving feature, but I have never used the lower 50hz rate. I just lock it to 60hz and call it a day :)

Is there a noticeable optical difference between 50Hz and 60Hz? I wonder what the power consumption difference is between the two settings with all other variables being identical.
