    Hi all, Please excuse my ignorance - I'm new to this stuff. I've just been given an R61 and I'm trying to get it to work with Skype. i assume that there is a built in microphone on this machine but i can't seem to get it working. can anyone help/ thanks dave

    Open control panel-> sound->manage audio devices
    Under recording tab, you should be able to see microphone that is installed. you can also see sound level indicator. Use the sound recorder and see if it works.

    Thanks but I tried that and it tells me that a microphone is installed and is working correctly. I searched for an updated driver and it tells me that I've got the latest driver. BTW, the machine is running Vista.
