R61 Shipping Question

If I order a R61 during the end of August, would the laptop arrive before the end of September?

 

What issues are you implying might occur?

I'm planning to order around the end of August or early September. I can't order any earlier since I can't move into the apartment till the 1st. I want to get the laptop before the end of September at the least.

 

it should. I ordred two a couple months ago, and received them within 2 weeks (1 week was shipping time from China)

 

I just ordered my R61 yesterday. ESD 8/31. Are there any others who got theirs earlier than the ESD?

 

I ordered R61 on 8/12 and ESD is 8/30. I'm hoping for some luck, kind of like in this thread:

I checked today though and the order is still "In Process"

*sigh* Uni begins again Monday...

 

I ordered R61 on 7/28...ESD was originally 8/30. I received it last Wednesday...8/8

 

Did you get the 2day shipping?

 

I think they're starting to get their act together. If you order in another week or two you should get it next month.

 

UPDATE: My laptop shipped today (8/16/07). I got free standard shipping and am crossing my fingers for fastest possible delivery

T7300, 80GB / 5400, 1GB ram, XP Pro

I bought it with part of a grad school stipend so had to budget the specs a little bit. I won't be doing any gaming on it so I just got the integrated Intel graphics card. Pretty happy for the price I paid. Thinkpad prices have sure plummeted since I started undergrad. My old R40 ran me almost $2400 I think. It was abused constantly for 4 years before the hard drive died. Hopefully this one performs the same. I intend to give it a little extra tlc.

 

Yes, although I didn't choose 2 day Air when I checked out, they just sent it that way for free.

 

Update: Just shipped, express... hoping that it will come by next week.

 

Just came in this morning.... really satisfied with it. Keyboard feels nice, screen's bright and clear, and its really fast. Hate vista tho.... Now, just have to fix my warranty problem...

Ordered one yesterday (8/20) and ESD is 9/6.

Hopefully it turns out like Dumas and I get it 9 days later.

I ordered my R61 on the 16th.

The original shipping date was 09/04/07.

I never got my confirmation mail, so I mailed them asking about that, they replied with this:

We are in receipt of your email regarding your order 2C85L3. Please note, your order shipped out on 08/21/07 under
UPS tracking number ****************. Please allow 3-5 business days to receive your delivery. We have
resent your order confirmation to *****************.

I'm not sure the fact that they send it way early has anything to do with my mail, but it's a good thing anyway . They had my mail wrong in the letter, but probably just a typo cuz I got my confirmation mail.

Checked my tracking and it says: rescheduled delivery: 08/22/2007
Isnt that 2 day shipping, or over night . I only opted for standard free shipping

Well as an update to all you ordering thinkpads, I placed my order late monday 8/20, and as of Friday 8/24 it had shipped.

Pretty good turnaround if I do say so myself.

 

The + screens definitely are holding things up. I have one though, and man is it a nice screen, I'd wait for it.
