Hey guys. I am new to this place.
I ordered a R61 wxga+ with a 9-cell on 04/16/08
The ESD is 5/5/08. But the status says: In process.
It has been like that ever since I placed the order and received the order-confirmation email. Lenovo hasn't taken money from my account as yet.
I emailed websales twice with my order information. No replies.
I feel they still haven't really started on my order. I need the laptop fast, my exams are approaching.
Any comments on how long it still might take? What happens if I cancel my order now? WIll I be charged something? I am planning to just go to a Best Buy store and buy a laptop.
(And sorry for the double post)

Guys, I really need help here.

I just got my R61, but it took about 18 days from the day I ordered it till the day I got it. Remember that they build it as you order it, then it has to come from China, then pass customs when it enters the US. It will probably get held up for a couple days in AK, and for a couple days in KY. Don't worry, you'll get it, just not ASAP. I don't know the answer to your other questions, I didn't try to cancel my order. Good Luck!!
edit: BTW, it'll say in process until it ships, then it will change to in transit or something, and that will be the link that will take you directly to the UPS tracking page for your order. -

What was your configuration? -
I doubt you'd get charged if you cancelled the order before it ships. They do say right on the website that the products ship in 1-2 weeks.

check my thread.. the first post will give you estimates on how long it usually takes..

I got sick of waiting and canceled my order once (I've since ordered again).
They have no problem canceling your order, but what they don't tell you is that they'll charge you a 15% (I think) restocking fee if the laptop has already started to be assembled, even if it hasn't shipped yet and even if your order page says "In process."
If you're thinking of canceling, I would do so immediately unless you're willing to risk paying the restocking fee. -
Thanks for all your comments guys. Yeah I was getting impatient. But the good news is my laptop has been shipped. Local UPS hasnt received it though. Hope to have my hands on it by tomorrow.
