Just got my R61 today and I'm having a strange issue with the LCD backlight. It seems to return to full brightness on its own.

With the laptop on AC power, I dim the backlight to full dim and about 1 min later the LCD backlight switches to full bright, except the OSD still thinks it's at the lowest setting. I've tried changing power modes (Max batt life etc...) but it doesn't fix it. When I unplug the laptop, run off just battery and dim the LCD it goes to max bright after less than 10 seconds.

Has anyone else experienced this before?

mine does the opposite goes to minimum, i fixed it by disabling hotkey OSD in msconfig startup, can't guarantee that it will work for you, seems retarded that osd would cause problems, it does on mine...
