I've just notice that when I set my Thinkpad R61 on a flat service it rocks back and forth. I thought at first it was just uneven rubber feet but after setting it top side down it still rocked. Is this a common defect among the R61 laptops?

ps: Sorry about not having a picture of the laptop in question I don't have access to a digital camera.

Ok that explains why the top is uneven but why is it that when I sit the R61on its rubber feet it rocks. I mean a little rocking is ok but this is more than a little. Is there something I could do to stop the rocking?

BTW Thanks for the reply it was very helpful.

The frame might be bent. How long have you had it? Call Lenovo and see if you can get it repaired or replaced.

Just wanted to update that the computer was still under warranty and I sent it in for repairs.

Good idea...it should just be the top, not the bottom that's not completely flat.
