I am sure she'll love it, but why replace a one year old laptop?

Entry level CPU. On XP home. I upgraded to 4GB of RAM and that made it faster but not fast enough. Basicly too slow. I thought about upgrading the CPU but I decided it was time for a much better notebook for her.

Plus I got a really good deal from Lenovo. (special pricing which I am elegible for).

Also I found a buyer for the Dell E1405.

    Thanks. :)

    Good news.

The UPS attempted to deliver it today but I missed him.

I contacted Lenovo about this and they made arrangements for me to go to go to my local UPS store to pick it up in a few hours.

    :)

    Ordered 1 April 2008.

What's she doing that requires a faster CPU and more memory? Just curious.

Basicly everything. Her Dell e1405 had a very low end CPU. I could have upgraded the CPU for a few hundred dollars but decided to get a R61 on sale. I got a great price on it so it's all good.

I'm posting from her R61 right now. I'm cleaning it up some. Adding 2GB of RAM for total of 3GB.

She will be using her R61 for converting HD video. That will probably be the most intense thing she will do with the T9300 powered R61.

She doesn't like the bigger 6 cell battery but it was such a good deal for the upgrade I talked her into it. I'm sure she will apreciate it when she is out with her machine.

Also she likes the looks of the Dell E1405 more too. :D But I'm sure in time she will love her R61's performance.

She registered her fingerprints. She likes that.

Time to get back to work on the R61.
