I accidently purchased an SSD IDE drive for my Thinkpad r61. Does some sort of adapter exist to bridge the IDE to SATA connection? What are my options for using the IDE drive with my R61?

    Any help greatly appreciated!

There are IDE to SATA adapters, but not for laptops AFAIK.
Your BEST option is to return or sell the SSD you purchased, and buy one truly compatible with your system.

I wish that was an option. Unfortunately, newegg has a no return policy on this particular drive. Do you know if it is possible to replace the DVD with a HDD adapter?

Then sell the SSD, the amount of money you will lose re-selling would probably be less than an ultrabay adapter. And I'm not sure an IDE ultrabay exists for the R61 anyway.

It's the Transcend TS32GSSD25S-M 32GB. Interested in buying it for $50 (including shipping)?

That one is slow as hell. It's even worse than 4200rpm HDD. You're lucky if you can get $20 for it.
