Lenovo has been updating their website today adding the R61i. It can be configured as low as $615 as follows:
Intel® Core 2 Duo processor T5470 (1.6GHz 800MHz 2MBL2)
Genuine Windows Vista Home Basic
15.4" WXGA
Intel GMA X3100, GM965, 1394, S-Video, PC Card/PCIe
512 MB PC2-5300 SDRAM DDR2 667MHz SODIMM Memory (1 DIMM)
UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad)
60 GB Hard Disk Drive, 5400rpm
CD-RW/DVD-ROM 24x/24x/24x/8x Max Combo Ultrabay Enhanced
ThinkPad 11a/b/g Wi-Fi wireless LAN Mini-PCIe US/EMEA/LA/ANZ
6 cell Li-Ion Battery ( 2.4 Ah )
8932: 1Year Express Warranty
The fastest CPU is the T5470 (1.6GHz 800MHz 2MBL2), all the other option possibilities are pretty much the same as the R61
So far it doesn't show up on the EPP site.
-
I doubt it will.
-
Actually it's been on and off it all morning, showing up then disappearing but never with the complete ability to order. When I posted the above it was gone.
Right now it's almost there again, but not quite
Also a 15" R61 keeps coming and going - for less then the 14"! -
R61 15 looks nice, but no dedicated graphics.....ditto the R60i.
-
$522.75 is the cheapest with EPP discount. Throw in FatCash and you're right over $500.
-
what model is that?
-
R61i
..... -
Interesting as the R61i isn't showing up for me on epp.
Also, my comment was based on the price available to everyone not just employee's and their friends and families. -
Ah man- is wsxga available on that? Or at least a 61i 14.1"?
Thanks for the update. -
Gar. Somehow I just knew they'd bring in the piece of crap R61 before they brought out the T61P.
Bastards. -
Please share with us why the R61 is a piece of crap, other then .2" and 3oz, it's pretty much the same as the T61.
-
15.4" WSXGA+ [add $75.00]
No 14", which makes it a non-starter for me.
I thought this was nice though:
Intel GMA X3100, GM965, 1394, S-Video, PC Card/PCIe [New] -
Have you tried resetting your browser's cache?
-
Hey genius - they announced the T61p today and R61 (14.1" wide) was announced May.
The R61i 14.1" widescreen is the best bang for the buck. Practically the same thing as a T61, but with cheaper Core 2 CPU's. -
That's not the issue. I've tried on multiple computers. The one I just tried (which lists all the thinkpad models) shows one "From" price for the R Series (the low price for the R61i I suspect) but when I click on it I get only the R61 shown, at the higher price.
I'm wondering if we are looking at 2 different epp sites.
Edit - finally, all the pieces showed up. Lowest price is $522.75, like you said
-
That's weird, I can't get the price to show $522.75 with EPP discount anymore.
-
That's because they removed the CPU option which reduced the price by about $130.
R61i - Cheapest Thinkpad?
