I have a R61i (type 7732, 14.1") with Intel Integrated Graphics and want to display HD (1920x1080) on my HDTV. Would mini-docking station 2504 allow me to display HD via the DVI port? Would I lose any video resolution going from DVI to HDMI adapter then to HDMI cable? Also, is there a special driver update that I would need or would the existing setup automatic detect the available resolutions of the HDTV/monitor? Thanks in advance.

if your R61i has 14.1 inch widescreen then you can get the dvi out option on the mini docking station. I am not sure whether the DVI to HDMI adapter is supported, if it is then you won't lose any video resolution, since there is no signal conversion going on.

Do you know exactly what kind of DVI port is it? I think there are DVI-D and DVI-I type and there are single and dual link. Any idea?

Also, is a lock required to operate the dock? I don't want a unwanted "lock-in" condition.
