    Hi,

Sorry for the thread title...I just figured out how to get the card in.

Now my question is: I'm trying to use an HP Scanjet 4P scanner with a new laptop. I keep getting an error message. Do I need to somehow install the scanner first?

    Thanks!

Are you terminated? Never used SCSI but I hear that's a big "whoops" issue.

    No need to apologize!

It's just a small square with the word "Error" in it, and a small red box with
a white X in the middle of it. When it appears, the computer makes a one-note sound. Windows isn't detecting the scanner at all.
