Do RAMs for t61 and for x200s have different designs?

I took off the 1GB RAM from my t61, and wanted to add it to my new x200s, which has a 2GB RAM. Upon opening the cover, I found that the 1GB RAM can't fit in: the notch position is different. The notch in the 1GB RAM is closer to the edge. Is this right? How can I know, before I buy a RAM, that it fits the x200s?

    T61 uses DDR2 RAM (200 pins), while X200s uses DDR3 RAM (204 pins). Of course they don't fit ;)

If you want to purchase DDR3 RAM, look at newegg.com

    Pick your poison: :p

    I think T61 uses DDR2 while x200s use DDR3.

Thanks for the information! I didn't know that at all. I wish I could simply trade the extra DDR2 with a DDR3 :(
