    Anybody have any suggestions of where I can find quality but not too expensive 2GB PC3 8500 DDR3 SODIMM for an r400?

    This is one of the cheapest ones out there, and it's from a very reputable manufacturer.

    I agree; I plan on getting this for my X200s.
    Newegg is great. Crucial and Kingston are top in my book and memory is the last place you want to skimp on just to save $5.

    I've used crucial RAM for several laptops, including a thinkpad, and it's worked great. You can also check the crucial website, which has a nice look up/scan utility for pretty much any laptop memory

    It looks like it's a little more expensive ($34 for 2GB) from crucial than from Newegg, and I can't really recommend the 4GB stick at $490...
