Hi can someone recommend me some RAM for the x120e that works without compatibility issues.

Ideally I'm after 2 X 4 gig. I may settle for a very low latency 4 gig though.

    Thanks :D

I installed 2GB Kingston RAM next to the 2GB already present and have had no problems so far.

RAM is RAM is RAM. As long as it POSTs and passes several rounds of memtest you should be good. Any brand name manufacturer with a lifetime warranty will suffice (Crucial, Corsair, Kingston, GSkill).

The X120e supports single-channel DDR3 PC3-8500 1066MHz RAM, so anything faster will downclock to that speed. As for brand, go for anything that has a lifetime warranty (which is pretty much any brand)--they're all more or less the same. I actually added a Lenovo/IBM-refurb DDR3 stick (Samsung RAM chips) to the 2GB stick my X120e came with.

Well I'm having a problem with CORSAIR 2 X 4GB. CM3X8GSDKIT1066. My laptop keeps freezing up and resetting after resuming from sleep. i.e. when I close the lid and open it. So I'm back to square 1 about finding RAM that works.

I've heard a few reports of problems with Corsair 2x4GB. Not sure if it actually means something though.

Hi mate, its worth a lot to me actually. Thank you so much for letting me know. I have this baby on order and I hope to have it tomorrow. I'll be doing the exact same as you. Keeping the stock 2 gig and adding this in for a total of 6 gigs. I bought some Corsair 2 X 4GB which was giving me problems and I'm in the process of sending it back.

    Thanks :D

I added a Corsair 4GB to the 2GB that came with the X120e and it works fine.

1066mhz CAS7 is the lowest CAS I've been able to find, anyone found something lower at the same speed?

Nope, I tried extensively to look as well to no avail.

7-7-7-20 timings seem to be the norm for PC-8500 ram.

Perfect. No point in going with a higher CAS memory when I can run a stick at rated speeds and a lower CAS :)
