I received my 14.1 T60 yesterday and I noticed today that I have what seems to be two dead pixels. One on top/middle of the screen and the other top/left of the screen.
I always thought dead pixels show up as black on white background. But mine shows up as red pixel only against dark back ground.
I don't know Lenovo's policy againt dead pixels. Anybody have any past experiences? Thanks

they can be dead pixels or "bring pixels" such as pixels that are stuck a specific color

Here's a thread I found about Lenovo's dead pixel policy

It seems that depending on your resolution you need a specific # of dead pixels before you can have the lcd replaced for free.

How about if you are within the return period. As I mentioned, I received the laptop yesterday.

I'm not familiar with Lenovo, but if they have like a 30 day money back guarantee (100% satisfaction guarantee) then yes you can return it because you're not satisfied

They used to, but they have recently changed their policy most likely due to high return rates. You may not have to pay the re-stocking fee if you can convince them your laptop is in some way defective.

Yeah I agree with that. I've heard if you lightly rub on the area where the stuck or dead pixel is at, sometimes they start working again. Always use a clean tee shirt or a soft cloth so you don't damage the screen.

I also order the 14.1 inch which was delivered on Monday and it has a dead pixel in the upper left part of the screen. I called Lenovo and a few reps told me that I needs to have at least 4 or 5 dead pixels for it to be replaced. I kept asking to be transfered until I could find someone who would do something about it. My reasoning was the thinkpad is a premium product and to have anything less than perfection when you receive the notebook is unacceptable, that is exactly what I told the reps. Eventually one guy Ryan helped me out, he got me a RMA# for my defective machine and placed a new order for me with the exact same specifications. Only catch is that I now am paying for two both notebooks until Lenovo receives the old one back and credits my account.

    dwjlee, what is your status??
