    REALLY long ship time?

    Anyone else having to experience this?

    I ordered a T500 on 3/15 because my ~5 year old laptop's LCD inverter died over spring break and I couldn't find a replacement part anywhere I looked online (its an old ASUS). The point being I needed a laptop quickly for school (using a friend's girlfriend's old (5+) year laptop in the interim). Ship date was listed as 3/26, figured it would ship before then or worst case get to me around 4/1. Kept checking the status every day, never changed, started to get a little annoyed... Now its 3/26 and I check and the estimated ship date has been changed to 4/16. That's a whole MONTH after I ordered it, and my mood has changed from irritated to majorly hacked off. School is practically over by then.

    Any idea why it would be taking so ridiculously long?

    I was actually pretty happy with the purchase until now. Got a pretty good deal:

    None of that screams "highly customizable" or anything which would give me reason to think it was the cause of the delay.

    A month isn't that long. People used to wait six months or longer for certain ThinkPads, but they were more of an investment back then. Your choices are to wait or buy a pre-configured machine. Getting hacked off does nothing to remedy the situation.

    While true, I just needed to vent/rant.

    Still, extending the estimated ship date by an additional 21 days seems a bit strange to me.

    It can be annoying when you buy a laptop from dell/hp/ibm and wait around 1 or 2 months to receive it :( I hope they will start making pre-configured models instead.

    sry about the long wait, it might change to a shorter time period if IBM is like Dell.
    I ordered my sxps 13 on Marth 18th and it's EDD was the 4th of April. But I received it on march 25TH :D

    I ordered a T400 10 days ago and it arrived today, which is amazing. Completely customized, there has to be something in your configuration that's holding things up. Usually it's a screen panel or graphics card supply issue.
