I changed my order to different configuration (completely new order) but the original laptop shipped before the cancellation went through. I called and the rep said they would not charge 15% restocking fee, but

    Lenovo - Shopping help

says they will for anything other than Lenovo error. It also says that a package marked as "undeliverable" will also cause a 15% restocking fee.

So, either way I get charged? At least if I reject delivery then I won't have to pay shipping, right?

Unless, of course, it counts as Lenovo Error.

Did you get the rep's name/information? If not, get an RMA for a return and explain to them your predicament. Usually, they'll waive your restocking fee if you ordered another Lenovo laptop instead and explain your situation politely.

Oh, and make sure you don't open the misordered laptop either!

By rejecting delivery you will ensure that you are charged the 15% restocking fee, since that one is automatic. The RMA includes return shipping and insurance (which is why you're liable for lost / damaged merchandise if you return it without an RMA). Since Lenovo knows you both cancelled and replaced your original order, it is unlikely you will be charged the 15% restocking fee (unless you open the box, of course).

    Or...what MidnightSun said. :)

I had this EXACT same thing happen to me.

They gave me an RMA number and a pre paid UPS label. Told me to just tape it on and hand the box right bak to the drive.

but, they were able to have UPS re-route the package in transit so I never had to deal with it.

I would suggest u do the RMA because the facility that the laptop has to go to so they can process your refund is different than the facility it shipped from.

The laptop goes back to North Carolina, then a couple of days after they receive it they credit the amount back to your credit card.

I have already had the money credited back to me. it was off by a few cents, but it def. wasn't 15%

Yea I had the Rep ID.
I guess I'll accept it and argue for a waiver.

Awesome, that sounds like a plan.
